Clark County School District (CCSD) Food Service will provide drive-thru Food Distribution Sites beginning Wednesday, July 20 through Friday, August 5, 2022. Children 2-18 years of age are eligible for the free school meals. Families will be able to pick up “grab and go” meals at 17 Food Distribution Sites districtwide in accordance with recently passed federal legislation. The parking lot Food Distribution Sites will be open from 7-9 a.m. Monday through Friday through August 5. Breakfast and lunch will be provided daily. School starts this Monday, Aug. 8, 2022, and parents/guardians are reminded to have their students bus route information.  Parents/Guardians can obtain information on transportation by visiting the Transportation website at transportation.ccsd.net, including checking on transportation eligibility for their child(ren) and viewing bus stop information by scrolling down the page and clicking on “Check your child’s eligibility.” Information can also be obtained by downloading the Onboard bus tracking app, accessing Campus Parent, or calling 702-799-8100. Agenda Item 3.15 – Ground Lease with St. Jude’s Ranch for Children The Clark County School District (CCSD) Board of School Trustees approved a ground lease agreement with Hope Shines Bright Holding Company, Inc. The lease will allow for the construction and operation of an educational facility on the St. Jude’s Ranch for Children campus in Boulder City, NV. The alternative education facility will have the capacity to provide instruction for approximately 60 students between the ages of 10 and 18 who live on-site as part of the program that offers support for victims of child sex trafficking. The first day of the 2022-23 school year is Monday, August 8, 2022. Registration: Families new to CCSD may begin their registration process online via register.ccsd.net. Families with currently enrolled students can complete registration using Parent Portal via Infinite Campus (campusportal.ccsd.net). Vaccinations: The State of Nevada requires the following vaccinations for students enrolling in school: chickenpox (varicella), hepatitis A, hepatitis B, polio, tetanus-diphtheria-pertussis (DTaP and Tdap), quadrivalent meningitis, and measles-mumps-rubella (MMR). CCSD is encouraging all students to take advantage of the summer break and enjoy a great book. Parents and students may share pictures on social media of them reading their favorite book using #ReadWithMeCCSD and be eligible to win an Amazon gift card until July 31, 2022. We encourage students to maintain and build on their reading skills over the summer months. CCSD Board of School Trustees meeting recap Agenda Item 4.01 – Teacher Vacancy Update The Clark County School District (CCSD) Board of School Trustees received a report on teacher vacancies for the upcoming 2022-23 school year.
