Agenda Item 3.15 – Ground Lease with St. Jude’s Ranch for Children

The Clark County School District (CCSD) Board of School Trustees approved a ground lease agreement with Hope Shines Bright Holding Company, Inc. The lease will allow for the construction and operation of an educational facility on the St. Jude’s Ranch for Children campus in Boulder City, NV. 

 The alternative education facility will have the capacity to provide instruction for approximately 60 students between the ages of 10 and 18 who live on-site as part of the program that offers support for victims of child sex trafficking.

Agenda Item 4.02 – Revised Plan for the Safe Return to In-Person Instruction and Continuity of Services

The Board of School Trustees discussed the revised Plan for Path Forward Program of Distance Education and Plan for the Safe Return to In-Person Instruction and Continuity of Services for the 2022-2023 school year. CCSD is no longer required to produce or abide by a Path Forward Program of Distance Education; however, CCSD remains federally responsible for the maintenance and 6-month update of the plan for the safe return to in-person instruction and continuity of services through September 2023. The plan will be submitted to the Nevada Department of Education as required.

CCSD will continue to provide full-time distance education on a limited basis through the District’s online school, the Nevada Learning Academy, in accordance with Nevada Revised Statutes (NRS) 388.838.

Agenda Item 4.03 & 4.04 – Public Hearing On and Possible Approval of the New Memorandum of Agreement to the Negotiated Agreement between the Clark County School District and the Clark County Education Association / Education Support Employees Association 

The Board approved new Memoranda of Agreement to the Negotiated Agreements with the Clark County Education Association (CCEA) and the Education Support Employee Association (ESEA). The MOAs acknowledge that AB 469 or NRS 388G.500 to 388G.810 (AB 469) applies to the agreements. The changes have no additional costs to the District.
