Accountability for students, building her peers and respect for everyone’s culture. Those are three of the reasons, D.L. Dusty Dickens Elementary School engineering teacher Ekuwah Moses was chosen as the Grand Prize Winner for the 2023-2024 National Life Group LifeChanger of the Year Program.  Ekuwah was recognized in front of more than 700 students and staff during a surprise assembly Friday, April 12. She received a $10,000 prize, which includes a $5,000 individual prize and a $5,000 donation to Dickens Elementary School. Ekuwah also received an all-expenses paid trip to Maui. The Clark County School District celebrates Principal Amy Wagner, who was recognized as the Administrator of the Year by the Nevada Association of Student Councils (NASC). The award is given to administrators who demonstrate a commitment to student activities and support for students. Boulder City High School students recently celebrated Mrs. Wagner’s recognition. Ballet Folklórico Alborada de Sunrise Mountain High School danced to three first-place trophies in the 2024 Texas State Folklórico Competition. The Sunrise Mountain HS folklórico team, a group of talented 9th-12th graders, showcased their exceptional skills in a competition that featured nearly 60 teams from Texas and Nevada. Ballet Folklórico Alborada took first place for solo, duet and ensemble.  Adding to the team’s three first-place trophies, Karla Garcia-Cardenas, program director for Ballet Folklórico Alborada de Sunrise Mountain High School, also earned first place in the director’s category. Students take advantage of additional opportunities to earn diploma LAS VEGAS – 315 Clark County School District (CCSD) students from the Class of 2022 seized the opportunities offered by the District to continue their education and earn a high school diploma. Tessa Campbell is the 2024 Star Graduate from Bonanza High School. Throughout her entire academic career, Tessa has excelled in every endeavor in which she has pursued. She is graduating first in her class with a 4.95 GPA, and she has successfully completed a total of 9 Advanced Placement classes. In addition to being a star student, Tessa has excelled in other areas as well. Clark County School District (CCSD) students at several schools will participate in the 11th annual Giant Student Farmers Market with Green Our Planet on April 19, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the lawn at Downtown Summerlin, 1980 Festival Plaza Dr. Student “Farmprenuers” will sell freshly grown produce and handcrafted goods for purchase. All profits will benefit school garden programs. In partnership with Green Our Planet, several CCSD schools provide students with STEM garden and hydroponics programs. 

The Clark County School District (CCSD) recognized 220 high school seniors who exceeded the District’s goal of graduating college and/or career-ready. The group, representing 26 CCSD high schools, was presented with the Superintendent’s Medallion by Interim Superintendent Dr. Brenda Larsen-Mitchell.  To earn the award each student accomplished the following: Scored a 31 or higher on the ACT Earned a score of three or higher on an AP exam  Completed a Career and Technical Education (CTE) certification. The event will be held at Lorenzi Park, 3333 W.
