CCSD recognized for 25th straight year as Best Communities for Music Education

The Clark County School District (CCSD) Music Education Program has earned the Best Communities for Music Education designation from the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) for the 25th year in a row.

“Our dedicated educators and students make our music programs among the very best in the nation,” said CCSD Interim Superintendent Dr. Brenda Larsen-Mitchell. “Providing educational and creative outlets for our students has long-lasting impacts beyond the walls of our schools and into our community. We couldn’t be more proud to have once again been recognized for our excellent music programs.”

The Best Communities for Music Education designation recognizes school districts that demonstrate outstanding achievement in providing music access and education to all students.

Districts recognized by the NAMM are often models for other educators looking to boost their music education programs. To qualify for the Best Communities designation, CCSD answered detailed questions about funding, graduation requirements, music class participation, instruction time, facilities, support for the music program, and community music-making programs. Responses were verified with school officials and reviewed by the Music Research Institute at the University of Kansas.

With over 13,000 school districts nationwide, CCSD is one of only 975 school districts to receive this prestigious award in 2024.
