Clark County School District (CCSD) students across southern Nevada experienced the unique opportunity to see a solar eclipse on Monday, April 8. Students at Walter Bracken STEAM Academy practiced safety as they wore specialized viewing glasses to observe the solar eclipse.  The school used the event as a learning opportunity for the students to study what science is involved in what they saw in the sky. Dear Clark County School District families: As you may have heard, a solar eclipse will be occurring on Monday, April 8, 2024. A total solar eclipse is something that will not happen again for another 20 years. While we are not in the path to observe the total solar eclipse, we will still experience a partial eclipse in southern Nevada from approximately 10:12 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The event may impact regularly scheduled outdoor activities, student arrivals, or dismissal times. Liberty High School is proud to recognize Jennifer Orozco as our 2024 Star Graduate. During her time at Liberty High School, Jennifer has been able to maintain a cumulative weighted GPA of 4.886 while taking a full load of rigorous courses. Del Sol Academy of the Performing Arts mariachi students who are members of “Encendido” and “Fuego” participated in the Disney Imagination Campus at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. The students earned the opportunity to experience what it feels like to be a professional performer on and off the stage. As part of Imagination Campus, students are treated as working professionals and become honorary Disney Cast Members for the day.
