Agenda Item 3.01 – 2024-2025 Tentative Budget The Clark County School District (CCSD) Board of School Trustees approved the District’s 2024-25 tentative budget. The tentative budget will now be filed with the State of Nevada.   CCSD’s general operating 2024-25 tentative budget is $3.48 billion. The tentative budget includes an unassigned ending fund balance of $156.6 million or approximately 4.5 percent. Sandy Valley High School is happy to announce Christopher LeClair as its 2024 Star Graduate. He is on track to be our Valedictorian while balancing honors, AP and college classes; along with sports, clubs and competitive rodeo. After the loss of his father at the start of his junior year, Alec persevered and made it through the year successfully, earning passing grades in every class. Clark County School District (CCSD) students across southern Nevada experienced the unique opportunity to see a solar eclipse on Monday, April 8. Students at Walter Bracken STEAM Academy practiced safety as they wore specialized viewing glasses to observe the solar eclipse.  The school used the event as a learning opportunity for the students to study what science is involved in what they saw in the sky. According to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), a total solar eclipse happens when the moon passes between the sun and Earth while completely blocking the sun. Dear Clark County School District families: As you may have heard, a solar eclipse will be occurring on Monday, April 8, 2024. A total solar eclipse is something that will not happen again for another 20 years. While we are not in the path to observe the total solar eclipse, we will still experience a partial eclipse in southern Nevada from approximately 10:12 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The event may impact regularly scheduled outdoor activities, student arrivals, or dismissal times.
