CCSD applauds approval of SB 231 funds by the Interim Finance Committee of the Nevada Legislature

Today, the Clark County School District presented its request for supplemental funding for eligible employees to receive additional compensation through funding allocated by Senate Bill 231 from the 2023 Legislative session.

“We extend our continued appreciation to the Legislature and the Governor for the historic increase in public education funding last session. With today’s approval of the SB 231 funds for CCSD, we are thrilled to further enhance compensation for our dedicated, hardworking, and deserving licensed educators, support professionals, and police,” said Dr. Brenda Larsen-Mitchell, Interim Superintendent. “Our employees show up every day to educate our children, and competitively compensating them ensures retention, successful recruitment, and student academic success.”

The approved $173,805,891 will supplement compensation increases previously agreed to through collective bargaining with each of the representatives of the eligible employee groups. Whose collaborative efforts made this additional compensation possible.
