The Clark County School District is excited to share that Legacy High School educator James Smerek has been named a 2024 James Madison Memorial Fellowship recipient. Smerek, who teaches World History, is one of 53 James Madison fellows selected this year. He competed with more than 400 applicants nationwide to earn the fellowship. The fellowship covers up to $24,000 towards each recipient’s course of study on the way to a master’s degree. Today, the Clark County School District presented its request for supplemental funding for eligible employees to receive additional compensation through funding allocated by Senate Bill 231 from the 2023 Legislative session.  “We extend our continued appreciation to the Legislature and the Governor for the historic increase in public education funding last session. Agenda Item 3.01 – 2024-2025 Tentative Budget The Clark County School District (CCSD) Board of School Trustees approved the District’s 2024-25 tentative budget. The tentative budget will now be filed with the State of Nevada.   CCSD’s general operating 2024-25 tentative budget is $3.48 billion. The tentative budget includes an unassigned ending fund balance of $156.6 million or approximately 4.5 percent. He is on track to be our Valedictorian while balancing honors, AP and college classes; along with sports, clubs and competitive rodeo. Spring Valley High School is proud to honor Alec Livingston as its 2024 Star Graduate. After the loss of his father at the start of his junior year, Alec persevered and made it through the year successfully, earning passing grades in every class. Alexys has overcome many obstacles to obtain his high school diploma but he never gave up on himself or his goals.
