The Clark County School District (CCSD) is offering free-of-charge summer learning opportunities to accelerate the academic, social-emotional, and behavioral development of all CCSD students. All schools will once again provide Summer Acceleration for students in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12 from May 30-June 16, 2023. The Clark County School District (CCSD) continues to earn national recognition for its Magnet programs. February is National Magnet School Month and CCSD again earned national recognition for 29 of its Magnet programs from Magnet Schools of America (MSA). The national association for magnet and theme-based schools selected 29 CCSD programs at 28 schools as Merit recipients for the 2022-23 school year. Clark County School District (CCSD) Transportation Director Jennifer Vobis has been named 2022 Transportation Director of the Year by the publication School Transportation News (STN). “As the largest owned and operated school bus fleet in the United States, we could not be more proud of Jennifer to be recognized for her outstanding efforts to transport our kids every day to and from school,” said Superintendent Jesus F. Clark County School District’s Raul P. Elizondo Elementary School and Mojave High School earned Purple Star School designations by the Nevada Department of Education (NDE). Schools that receive this prestigious honor are recognized for their commitment to supporting the unique educational and social-emotional needs of military-connected children. NDE announced the honorees in November to help celebrate the Month of the Military Family. These schools will receive a certificate and banner to signal their support in the educational transitions of military students and families. The Clark County School District (CCSD) unveiled and will soon begin operating the first electric school bus in Nevada. The bus is expected to begin transporting students in the coming weeks. “CCSD is continuously looking for ways to improve student outcomes inside and outside the classroom,” Superintendent Dr. Jesus F.
