As we enter the school year in full-time distance education, the District wants all students to engage in successful educational experiences. As circumstances outside of a student’s control may prevent the student from participating in synchronous (real-time) sessions, educators are encouraged to record synchronous sessions while not publicly disclosing the personally identifiable information of students. Guidance is provided for all educators (click here for details) to facilitate the recording of synchronous sessions while protecting student information privacy in alignment with the Federal Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Knudson Academy of the Arts has been designated an Exemplary School in recognition of its commitment to excellence by the Arts Schools Network Board of Directors. CCSD Board of Trustee Meeting Recap, Aug. 13, 2020 LAS VEGAS – Agenda Item 3.17 – Internet Connectivity Services – Cox Communications The Clark County School District (CCSD) Board of School Trustees unanimously approved the purchase of Connect2Compete connections for qualifying students in CCSD households for the period of one year up to the approved amount of $4,800,000.00. Connecting Kids Nevada is a new program to connect students with technology. Visit connectingkidsnv.org to learn more about how families can obtain internet connectivity and technology assistance. A Family Support Center has also been created to assist Nevadans. Families can call 888-616-2476 and talk to a representative in English or Spanish. As the new school year opened with 100 percent distance education, most of the public’s attention was on getting Chromebooks and other devices into the hands of children and getting them internet connection. But another essential consideration was ensuring that 320,000 students have access to nutritious meals every day when school is in session.
