In observance of Juneteenth, all CCSD schools and offices will be closed on Monday, June 20, 2022. Buildings will return to regularly scheduled summer hours on Tuesday, June 21, 2022.

Approximately 350 Clark County School District students were recognized and presented with high school diplomas on Aug. 2 as part of the Summer Commencement Ceremony, which was held at the Orleans Arena. The students participating in the ceremony worked through the summer to complete needed course credits. CCSD leadership and members of the Board of School Trustees were on hand to celebrate the accomplishments of these dedicated students who earned their high school diplomas.

Clark County School District and community leaders celebrated the opening of the new Central Technical Training Academy-Global Community High School campus with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Aug. 1.  Central Technical Training Academy is a non-traditional high school focusing on career pathway training through CTE coursework, credentialing, and work-based learning opportunities.  The mission of Global Community High School is to provide a rigorous, relevant and diverse education to English language learners by modeling respect, building cultural community, and using innovative research based instruction while instilling the values of academic excellence and civic responsibility. School sites that are providing summer instruction (Summer Acceleration, Extended School Year and Secondary Summer School) will offer free breakfast and lunch to any child 2 – 18 years of age on days that there is academic instruction occurring on-site at the school.    Meal service will be limited or not be available on the following date: No meal service will be provided July 4, 2022 in observance of the 4th of July holiday. Laron O’Quinn is a Star Graduate for the 2021-22 school year for Desert Rose Adult Ed. Laron started with Desert Rose in the 2017-18 school year with the purpose of finishing her high school diploma as well as fully understanding all of the material. Laron exemplifies all areas of our school’s RISE motto by being respectful to all, having the utmost integrity in her studies, being self-aware in advocating for herself, and being an all-around excellent student! Lizbeth Hernandez is an exceptional young woman with great discipline and a strong work ethic. Lizbeth’s character is what really helps her stand out. She is mature beyond her years. As the younger daughter in her family, she attributes her success to being challenged by her older sister. At Western High School, Lizbeth has really shined academically. She has managed to get A’s in 12 Honors classes, and three AP classes!
