The Clark County School District (CCSD) recently completed parent and employee surveys in preparation for the March 1, 2021, return to a hybrid instructional model for Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 3 students. The results of the employee survey show 59.7 percent of staff members prefer to come back and work in the school buildings. 40.3 percent of employees indicated that they prefer not to work in the buildings. “Our students only have one shot at education and face-to-face instruction is crucial in providing our students with a bit of normalcy as we continue to provide them with a high-level of education,”…

On March 1, 2021, all elementary schools in the Clark County School District (CCSD) will welcome pre-kindergarten to 3rd grade students for families who would like their child to return to campus for face-to-face Hybrid instruction. Our instructional model of full-time distance education will continue as well for families. Throughout the second semester, the District will work to transition additional grade levels to the hybrid instructional model; however, there is currently no timeline for this transition. Agenda Item 5.06 & 5.07 – Approval of the New Memorandum of Agreement Regarding the Negotiated Agreement Between the Clark County School District and the Clark County Education Association. The Clark County School District (CCSD) Board of School Trustees approved a Memorandum of Agreement that will increase compensation for CCSD’s licensed school psychologists. Nationally, there is a shortage of school psychologists. CCSD currently has 159 school psychologists. In Nevada, the recommended ratio is 500 students to 1 school psychologist.
