During National School Lunch Week, the Clark County School District (CCSD) is pleased to announce it will be expanding the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) districtwide. The move will allow CCSD to offer meals at no charge to all CCSD students through the 2024-25 school year. “Access to nutritious meals is vital to student success in the classroom,” CCSD Superintendent Dr. Jesus F. The Clark County School District (CCSD) is restructuring the Community Engagement Office to revitalize efforts to increase community and family outreach priorities in line with Focus: 2024, CCSD’s five-year strategic plan. This effort comes on the heels of a community feedback process that gathered input from more than 15,000 families and community members. Per Nevada Revised Statute 236.073, Governor Sisolak has proclaimed the first week in October as the Week of Respect.   This direct initiative requires the Clark County School District (CCSD) to ensure consistent intervention and prevention of bullying and cyberbullying in all schools and work environments.  The week of respect begins on October 4, 2021, until October 8, 2021. CCSD developed the online Canvas Week of Respect 2021 Guide in an effort to support schools in implementing activities that support a safe and respectful learning environment. The Clark County School District (CCSD) will observe National School Lunch Week (NSLW) from October 11-15. The NSLW theme this year is “Wild About School Lunch,” which is designed to show parents, students, and school officials the benefits of eating school lunch.  The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) serves nearly 30 million children every school day. National School Lunch Week (NSLW) was created in 1962 to promote the importance of a healthy school lunch in a child’s life and the impact it has inside and outside of the classroom. Join Clark County School District (CCSD) Superintendent Dr. Jesus F. Jara for an upcoming virtual town hall to showcase the results of the Focus on the Future for Kids community input-gathering process. Each year, Cadwallader Middle School Advanced Art students are provided with a photo as well as a brief biography of each of the 58 lives lost on October 1, 2017. Students use the information as inspiration to design a set of angel wings that they feel represents the specific person and their life. The Angel Wings Project was started by Mrs. Christine Janette, a Cadwallader Middle School teacher and survivor, following the Route 91 Harvest Festival tragedy.
