The Clark County School District (CCSD) Board of School Trustees approved the District to move forward with creating a partnership with St. Jude’s Ranch for Children to build and operate a new school at their campus in Boulder City, Nevada. Envisioned by Superintendent Jesus F. Jara after touring the Healing Center site, the school will serve trafficked teens who will live on-site. COVID-19 Positive Cases Dashboard  Click here to access CCSD’s COVID 19 Positive Cases Dashboard. The dashboard allows students, parents, staff and the public to locate and identify which schools and work locations have had or currently have positive COVID-19 cases. Cases displayed on the dashboard are cumulative cases tracked since March 16, 2020 for staff and students. Schools and students throughout the Clark County School District (CCSD) celebrate Nevada Reading Week, Feb. 28 through March 4 with the theme of “Catch the Reading Wave.” Schools engage students in fun reading activities, spirit days, and promote learning through literacy. Nevada Reading Week is a statewide initiative that was started in 1987 by the Nevada Department of Education for Nevada teachers and librarians to celebrate reading through shared thematic activities. CCSD Statement regarding Governor Sisolak’s repeal of the mask mandate The Clark County School District welcomes Governor Sisolak’s updated directive to end the statewide mask mandate for Nevada. Beginning at the end of the school day today, February 10, 2022, masks will no longer be required on CCSD campuses, schools, or facilities but will remain required on school buses. National School Psychology Week is celebrated during the week of November 8–12, 2021 and schools throughout the nation highlight the important work school psychologists do to help students thrive. This year’s theme is “Let’s Get in GEAR.” (Grow, Engage, Advocate, Rise).  The theme’s acronym provides a challenge to grow both personally and professionally. In observance of Veterans Day on Thursday, Nov. 11, 2021 there will be no classes, and CCSD schools and offices will be closed on Nov. 11, 2021. Additionally, there will be no school for students, licensed employees, and 9-month support professionals on Nov. 12, 2021. School will resume on Monday, Nov. 15, 2021.
