Star Grad – Southeast Career and Technical Academy

Southeast Career and Technical Academy is thrilled to recognize Scottlan Brasher as our 2024 Star Graduate. Scottlan’s journey through high school has been marked by outstanding achievements, leadership, and a commitment to excellence. As a member of the swim team, Scottlan has showcased his skill, and exemplified leadership as both captain and co-captain. His contributions have been instrumental in the team’s success, including multiple appearances at state competitions.

Scottlan has been an instrumental figure in SECTA’s SkillsUSA chapter, serving as president since his sophomore year. Under his leadership, the organization has experienced a 300% growth in school-wide membership. Scottlan’s vision and drive to improve have been pivotal in expanding SkillsUSA’s influence within the school.

Scottlan’s academics reflect his dedication to personal growth. He has maintained a commitment to rigorous coursework, including honors, dual credit, and Advanced Placement classes, and has earned a cumulative weighted GPA of 4.061. As he prepares to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering at UNLV, Scottlan remains committed to honoring his potential and striving to be the best version of himself every day. His impact on the SECTA community will continue to resonate, leaving a lasting legacy of leadership and achievement and kindness.
