17 Dec Superintendent’s Mailbag – Zone boundaries

Each week, the Clark County School District (CCSD) responds to some of the emails it receives from district employees, parents or community members. This week, the district responds to an inquiry about zone boundaries.

A parent asks, “How are school attendance zone boundaries determined?”

The CCSD Board of School Trustees Attendance and Zoning Advisory Committee (AZAC) was formed to discuss how school boundaries are determined. This 15-member commission is made up of non-paid individuals who are appointed by individual trustees and the superintendent.

Attendance zone boundaries for all schools in Clark County are reviewed annually. This process begins in September and ends in late March. All AZAC meetings are open to the public and operate under the open meeting laws for Nevada.
