STEM professionals can share their knowledge with students in the Science in Schools program

As an integral part of the 2019 Las Vegas Science and Technology Festival, the Clark County School District is inviting STEM professionals to partner with CCSD by participating in Science in Schools from April 29 to May 3.

For those interested in being part of this exciting and rewarding experience, they will be able to share their expertise and career experience in science, technology, engineering, or math. CCSD’s School-Community Partnership Program will match STEM professionals with a classroom or school to share their work with students.

CCSD is enlisting more than 100 speakers this year for any grade level. In addition, please share this opportunity with other STEM professionals in your network.

Your commitment could be as short as one to two hours one day or as long as multiple hours over multiple days, depending on your availability. To sign up to be a speaker, please click here.

If you participate in this program, CCSD will work hard to connect you with an appropriate school(s) and teacher(s). Your matches will be emailed to you and the teachers by mid-April to allow you and the school staff to connect and schedule.

The need is great at all grade levels, especially at elementary schools, but please consider being available to modify for any grade level. The teachers or CCSD’s School-Community Partnership Program can assist you with ideas.

If you would like to speak with someone about this wonderful opportunity, please contact Cheryl Wagner, a coordinator for CCSD’s School-Community Partnership Program, at 702-799-6560.
