School Board approves incentives for educators selected to teach at eight middle schools

The Board of School Trustees unanimously approved a memorandum of agreement between the Clark County Education Association and the Clark County School District to provide annual $10,000 incentives to educators accepted to teach at eight middle schools identified by the state as needing improvement.

From August 2019 through June 2022, teachers at the schools could be eligible to receive $10,000 in recruitment and retention supplemental pay. These teachers also will receive an additional 34 minutes during the workday for a planning period prior to the start of the student day.

The teachers could also be eligible for an additional performance supplement of $5,000 based on student outcomes. Additional details will be worked out between the CCSD and the teachers association, as they are working collaboratively on the implementation process, etc.
