05 May Foothill High School Marching Band to perform in Tournament of Roses Parade
The Foothill High School Marching Band has been chosen to participate in the Tournament of Roses Parade, to be held Jan. 2, 2017 in Pasadena, California. The band is hosting several events to raise funds for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The first such event will be Friday, May 6 at 7 p.m, when the Falcon Band Boosters hosts a 5.5-mile march around the Foothill High School track. Food, games and activities for children will be available. The following day, on May 7, the Falcon Band Boosters will host a “Rose Gala” at the Hilton Lake Las Vegas Resort and Spa, starting at 6 p.m. Among those in attendance will be Tournament of Roses President Brad Ratliff and other dignitaries. Travis Pardee is the Director of Bands and Chair of the Performing Arts Department at Foothill, where he conducts the Wind Symphony, Jazz Ensembles and Marching Band, while guiding all aspects of the Foothill Band program.
