Tessa Campbell is the 2024 Star Graduate from Bonanza High School. Throughout her entire academic career, Tessa has excelled in every endeavor in which she has pursued. She is graduating first in her class with a 4.95 GPA, and she has successfully completed a total of 9 Advanced Placement classes. In addition to being a star student, Tessa has excelled in other areas as well. Clark County School District (CCSD) students at several schools will participate in the 11th annual Giant Student Farmers Market with Green Our Planet on April 19, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the lawn at Downtown Summerlin, 1980 Festival Plaza Dr. Student “Farmprenuers” will sell freshly grown produce and handcrafted goods for purchase. All profits will benefit school garden programs. In partnership with Green Our Planet, several CCSD schools provide students with STEM garden and hydroponics programs. 

The Clark County School District (CCSD) recognized 220 high school seniors who exceeded the District’s goal of graduating college and/or career-ready. The group, representing 26 CCSD high schools, was presented with the Superintendent’s Medallion by Interim Superintendent Dr. Brenda Larsen-Mitchell.  To earn the award each student accomplished the following: Scored a 31 or higher on the ACT Earned a score of three or higher on an AP exam  Completed a Career and Technical Education (CTE) certification. The event will be held at Lorenzi Park, 3333 W. The Clark County School District is excited to share that Legacy High School educator James Smerek has been named a 2024 James Madison Memorial Fellowship recipient. Smerek, who teaches World History, is one of 53 James Madison fellows selected this year. He competed with more than 400 applicants nationwide to earn the fellowship. The fellowship covers up to $24,000 towards each recipient’s course of study on the way to a master’s degree. Nancy Muñoz exemplifies what it means to be an East Career and Technical Academy Titan in leadership, work ethic and kindness to all.
