Agenda Item 3.01 – Focus: 2024 Strategic Plan Update – Student Achievement  The Clark County School District (CCSD) Board of Trustees were provided with a presentation regarding the District’s efforts on student achievement. As part of the report, Differentiated School Support Framework overall results show 59% of schools with increased index scores in the Nevada School Performance Framework (NSPF). Additionally, 31% of schools saw an increase of 10 points or more. The Clark County School District (CCSD) will observe National School Lunch Week (NSLW) from October 10-14. The NSLW theme this year is “Peace, Love & School Lunch,” which is designed to show parents, students, and school officials the benefits of eating school lunch. The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) serves nearly 30 million children every school day. National School Lunch Week (NSLW) was created in 1962 to promote the importance of a healthy school lunch in a child’s life and the impact it has inside and outside of the classroom. The Green Our Planet’s Giant Student Farmers Market took place on Oct. 20 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Clark County Government Center.        Billed as the largest student market in the U.S., the event featured more than 500 students from 50+ schools in Southern Nevada, students run the market themselves, selling school-grown fruits, herbs, veggies, and crafts to the public. Contributions are then reinvested back into the school’s garden programs. The market is held every fall and spring. The Clark County (CCSD) School District Board of School Trustees received a presentation about the District’s grading reform. Through the work of the principal-led Grading Reform Committee, the District has identified four priority areas to focus efforts to ensure accurate, meaningful grades supportive of student learning. The multi-year plan addresses the following changes: Implement an equal (balanced) grading scale. Remove behavior from the grading process.
