The Clark County School District (CCSD) is working with Study.com, a leading online education platform, to provide test prep scholarships for aspiring teachers. Through Study.com’s Keys to the Classroom, CCSD will receive donated licenses to comprehensive, cost-free materials and resources to help future teachers prepare and pass their certification tests. The multi-year agreement aims to remove barriers for aspiring educators preparing to take certification tests to earn their teaching credentials. Congratulations to Clark County School District’s Raul P. Elizondo Elementary School and Mojave High School on their Purple Star designations by the Nevada Department of Education (NDE). Schools that receive this prestigious honor are recognized for their commitment to supporting the unique educational and social-emotional needs of military-connected children. NDE announced the honorees in November to help celebrate the Month of the Military Family. The Clark County School District (CCSD) has been awarded more than $9 million from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Clean School Bus Program to purchase new electric buses and infrastructure. “Funding from the EPA’s new Clean School Bus Program will enable CCSD to replace existing school buses with zero-emission and low-emission models,” said Superintendent Jesus F. A total of 78 Clark County School District (CCSD) high school students have been selected as semifinalists in the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Program through the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. They represent less than 1 percent of U.S. high school seniors and qualify to continue in the competition for National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $28 million. These students were among the highest-scoring participants in Nevada out of more than 1.5 million juniors in more than 21,000 high schools nationwide.
