Rebecca is a remarkable student. She is ranked number two in our high school while taking the most rigorous classes available to her but her academic skill is not the only impressive thing about her. Rebecca was diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. As a result of this illness, she has spent many years on bed rest. Her entire middle school years were spent doing classwork from her bed because she was too ill and in too much pain to move, however, this didn’t stop her from excelling academically. CSN High School West is proud to announce Jana Alnajjar as the 2024 Star Graduate! Jana is the student council president and journalist for the school newspaper. She’s incredibly hard-working academically, on track to complete her associate’s degree before high school graduation, and she’s involved in all campus activities. She’s a friend to all students at our school and beloved by our staff. Jana has her choice of several top universities, including Princeton University, University of Oregon, and University of Hawaii, among others. She plans to study politics and law, and we have no doubt she will do just that.…

Nevada Moves Day is a statewide celebration of walking, biking and rolling to school. All students, school staff and families are encouraged to get physically active to commemorate the day on March 20.  This event highlights the benefits, opportunities and barriers around safe walking and biking to and from school. Clark High School is proud to present Jennifer Hsu as our 2024 Star Graduate. Jennifer has achieved unparalleled academic success and has earned a weighted GPA of 4.95 in Clark’s AMSAT Program. She holds the title of AP Scholar with Distinction, earning 5 5’s and 6 4’s on various AP exams. Jennifer is attending Brown University in the fall where she will matriculate into their BS/MD program with the eventual goal of being a doctor. CCSD earns honor in 2024 Magna Awards Program  The National School Board Association (NSBA) recognizes the Clark County School District (CCSD) Family Support Center for its commitment to innovation. The 2024 Magna Award recognized the District programs for solving a challenge with creativity and out-of-the-box strategies. School bus safety is a top priority for the Clark County School District (CCSD). CCSD currently has the largest District-owned school bus fleet in the country with more than 1,930 buses. The Transportation Department follows strict procedures every day to ensure the approximately 123,000 eligible bus riders arrive safely. Clark County School District (CCSD) Family Engagement Department invites families to CCSD’s to an empowering day of workshops, “Parents Empowering Parents.” Parent leaders will host a series of workshops to support family success on Thursday, March 28, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at East Las Vegas Community Center, 250 N. The Clark County School District (CCSD) Librarians Day is celebrated on March 6, recognizing the importance of teacher-librarians in an effective educational program for students.  Teacher-librarians are information literacy and technology teachers, reading advocates, leaders and collaborators, and library program managers. They guide students to be critical users and producers of information and ideas.
