Student creativity celebrated during Youth Art Month

In honor of Youth Art Month, the Clark County School District (CCSD) celebrates students’ creativity through art with the guidance of CCSD educators and its programs.

CCSD students have had the opportunity to have their talents showcased at Harry Reid International Airport for travelers from all over the world to see!

Jorge Cruz, a 4th grade student at Gene Ward Elementary School had the opportunity to have his art displayed on a billboard outside of the airport during the holiday season. Gene Ward Elementary School Principal Gregory Winiewicz, art teacher Shalome Pilon and Jorge’s classmates were there to cheer Jorge on during the unveiling. Read more here

During Super Bowl LVIII, 3D Pop Art Artist Charles Fazzino held an interactive workshop for students from John C. Fremont Professional Development Middle School and Academy of Medical Sciences, Global Community High School and Valley High School. The two-hour interactive workshop was also held with participants at the CCSD Family Support Center. The original art piece was located in Terminal 1 leading up to the big game.

Last year, Liberty High School held its inaugural visual arts show for student artists to display their work inside the library. Students showcased their original artwork including paintings, drawings, photographs, ceramic pieces and more.

“Art is one way to bring people together and being able to actually form connections with other human beings,” said Liberty High School student Michelle. Learn more about the annual visual arts show here
