In honor of School Nurse Day, the Clark County School District wants to recognize the more than 225 nurses who support students. Almost every student has interacted with their school nurse as they are an integral part of keeping students healthy, safe and ready to learn. As part of the celebration, CCSD Interim Superintendent Dr. Brenda Larsen-Mitchell invited five school nurses, nominated by their supervisors to a special lunch. Liam Simpson is a student with multiple impairments and has attended John F. Miller School since the 5th grade. Liam has a deep affection for jazz music and a general love for all kinds of music. He is not one to idle. He takes joy in riding the adaptive bike and using the gait trainer. Personalized attention and human interaction bring Liam great satisfaction, and he remains alert and engaged when staff read to him.
