The presentation displayed the gradual progress of the District’s efforts to lower the overall rate. LAS VEGAS – Since the start of negotiations, the Clark County School District (CCSD) has committed to using all available funding via Senate Bill 231 for its intended purposes–to pay our educators and staff above and beyond the agreements negotiated this year. CCSD, the Education Support Employees Association (ESEA, and Teamsters Local 14) agreed to negotiate the SB 231 funds once the NDE, LCB, and IFC provide information related to the bill. The CCSD Family Engagement Unit will be hosting a Family Academy workshop on Saturday, September 9 from 8 am to 11:30 am at Rancho High School.  This free event will give families the opportunity to gain strategies to support learning at home and will also receive guidance for navigating the school system. Participants have the option to attend either an adults-only session or sessions for families that are learning together. CCSD used #ESSERIII funding to purchase new curriculum through Amplify Education to help enhance students’ learning experience. Watch the video here. Through #ESSERIII funding, CCSD purchased new curriculum for English language arts (ELA) educators to help engage students in literacy. Teachers at Hannah Marie Brown Elementary School have been using this new curriculum since the school’s opening in 2021, and have found success in their classroom with helping to teach their students to read. Board to review tentative contract at board meeting this week LAS VEGAS – The Clark County School District (CCSD) has reached a tentative agreement with the Education Support Employees Association (ESEA) and Teamsters Local 14. The contract will be reviewed by the Board of School Trustees at the August 4 special board meeting. Changes balance educator workflow with student academic success  LAS VEGAS – The Clark County School District (CCSD) is modifying grading guidelines for students after receiving feedback from teachers during the 2022-23 school year.  Starting with the 2023-24 school year, we are revising the application of the equitable grading scale at secondary schools, removing it from the assignment level, and instead applying the scale at the quarter grades.
