Clark County School District (CCSD) celebrates National Parental Involvement Day, Nov. 16, to recognize the positive impact of family engagement on student achievement. CCSD’s Family Engagement Department provides all CCSD families with valuable resources and learning opportunities. The Family Engagement Department’s events, programs and resources are intended to empower and educate families to support their child’s overall well-being and academic achievement.  Special events, Family Academy workshops, engagement centers, digital learning and resource guides are available to all CCSD families. We would like to recognize the important role that our substitute teachers play in the education of our students. Substitute teachers fill the shoes of our educators and continue giving quality education to our students. Four officers from the Clark County School District Police Department (CCSDPD) are ready to hit the road as part of the CCSDPD Traffic Unit after graduating from Motor School Thursday. Officers Andrew Craft, Jason Martin, Dream Stone and Tony Thalman were among a class of 12 police officers from various local law enforcement agencies who completed the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Motor School. Officers from throughout Southern Nevada taking part in the course learn techniques for enforcing traffic laws as well as defensive and riding skills to keep them safe on the job. The Clark County School District (CCSD) celebrates National School Psychology Week beginning November 6-10, recognizing the critical work school psychologists do to help students thrive. This year’s theme is “Let’s Grow Together,” inspired by the importance of both personal and shared strengths in the growth as individuals and school communities in every season of life. The theme recognizes aspects of growth that are fundamental to effective learning environments and school psychologists’ role in supporting student well-being and learning.

Campaign aimed at reducing chronic absenteeism LAS VEGAS – The Clark County School District (CCSD) launched the Every Day Matters campaign to emphasize the importance of daily attendance in academic achievement and future success. “Chronic absenteeism is a life-changing choice that impacts the students in the highest need of educational resources and academic support,” said CCSD Superintendent Dr. Jesus F.
