Spring Break is being held from March 29 – April 2, 2021. There will be no school on April 5, 2021 to serve as the contingency day. School will be back in session on Tuesday, April 6, 2021. The Clark County School District is preparing to submit a competitive proposal to the Nevada Department of Education to expand the Title IV, Part B Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) grant program. Planning for the specifics of program implementation is ongoing and student, parent, and community input is encouraged. Agenda Item 5.02 – 5.11 – Memoranda of Agreement with bargaining units regarding transition to Hybrid Instructional Model The Clark County School District (CCSD) Board of School Trustees approved five separate Memoranda of Agreement with the Clark County Education Association (CCEA), Education Support Employees Association (ESEA), Police Administrators Association of the CCSD Police Department (PAA) and Police Officers Association of the CCSD (POA). The Clark County School District (CCSD) and Nevada leaders have partnered to release a 45 second public service announcement (PSA) video for all Nevada students regarding mental and emotional wellness. “The stress of the pandemic has had an impact on the lives of everyone in Clark County for different reasons, especially our kids,” said CCSD Superintendent Dr. Jesus F. The Clark County School District (CCSD) Transportation Department is hosting its first virtual application session of 2021 for prospective bus drivers. As part of the event, applicants will be able to receive assistance completing their application online and have questions answered by staff via Live Chat during this time. In an effort to fill bus driver vacancies, CCSD will be hosting weekly application sessions for bus driver positions. In these sessions, Transportation and Human Resource representatives will be ready to assist applicants in real-time with questions about the position, application process, or the application itself. Elementary school teachers in the Clark County School District (CCSD) are encouraged to have their students submit entries in the Vegas PBS KIDS Writers Contest. The contest is designed to promote the advancement of children’s literacy skills through hands-on, active learning. It is made possible by local financial support from Janice Allen, empowering children in grades K-5 to celebrate creativity and build literacy skills by writing and illustrating their very own stories.
