As part of Black History Month, schools are celebrating the contributions of African-Americans in U.S. history. CCSD schools are doing a variety of activities ranging from studying prominent African-Americans to having events that include song, dance and poetry virtually.

CCSD Board of School Trustees Meeting Recap 5.02 2021-2022 School Calendars for Staff and Students The Board of School Trustees held a discussion regarding an amendment to the 2021-22 school calendar for staff and students. The board voted unanimously to approve the suggested changes.  These calendar changes align with existing procedures and policies regarding pay for contingency days. The Clark County School District (CCSD) has been recognized with the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting (COE) by the Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO) for its comprehensive annual financial report (ACFR). Superintendent Jara selects new Chief Information Officer Clark County School District (CCSD) Superintendent Dr. Jesus F. Jara announced the selection of Dr. Marilyn Delmont as CCSD’s Chief Information Officer. “Dr. Delmont has decades of experience leading technology and information initiatives for large organizations, both public and private. Clark County School District (CCSD) students and employees will return to the classroom for in-person instruction Wednesday, January 19, 2022, following a five-day pause. The pause allowed school employees to recuperate and gave nurses time to catch up on a backlog of calls to process COVID cases within the District. CCSD is celebrating Peace Week Jan. 17 through 22, 2022. Students will take part in activities virtually that contribute to the creation of a more peaceful world. CCSD’s Peace Week theme is “Be Inclusive.” Peace Week focuses on helping educators, students, and the community to promote a culture of peace in Nevada and around the world. Individuals work on understanding and managing conflict in their own lives. The Clark County School District (CCSD) is committed to providing consistent on-time transportation to eligible students. Because bus driver shortages have impacted every sector across the country, and to transport students to and from school more efficiently, CCSD has adjusted school start and end times for the 2022-2023 school year, which starts on Aug. 8, 2022. The first transition will impact the upcoming 2022-2023 school year by making slight changes to start and end times at more than half of the school campuses to improve on-time rates for all bus routes. Agenda item 5.04 – Employee retention bonuses Clark County School District (CCSD) Board of School Trustees approved an agreement with all five employee bargaining units to provide eligible regular and full-time employees employed as of January 1, 2022 with a $1,000 COVID retention bonus. CCSD will also pay an additional $1,000 bonus to eligible regular and full-time employees who are employed on May 25, 2022, for a total of $2,000.
