13 Sep CCSD reminds undocumented immigrants of no-reporting policy

In light of recent national news involving Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), the Clark County School District (CCSD) is reminding families that CCSD schools are safe places for undocumented students. Founded by the Obama administration in June 2012, DACA is an immigration policy that allows certain undocumented immigrants who entered the country as minors to receive a renewable two-year period of deferred action from deportation, as well as eligibility for a work permit. CCSD Trustee Carolyn Edwards said, “We don’t report undocumented immigrants to authorities. The end of DACA would not affect the education of undocumented students in CCSD.” Click here for more information.
