Amanda Joens is a top student in the Aerospace Engineering Magnet Program at Rancho High School. She ranks in the top 4% of her graduating class. She is an elite athlete, and Amanda represented Rancho High School in wrestling throughout her high school career until she suffered a spinal injury during a match requiring surgery. Initially, doctors were not sure if she would be able to walk again. She was moved out of state for rehabilitation. Amanda was determined to walk across the stage and graduate in June with her class throughout this time. Amanda has always taken a rigorous course load and pushed herself academically and athletically. She had athletic scholarships to wrestle in college. Although circumstances have changed, Amanda will still attend college on an academic scholarship at the University of Nevada, Reno, in the fall, where she will study pre-medicine. Amanda possesses a remarkable ability to adapt to situations as she maintains an even temperament under challenging circumstances. She is an intensely determined young adult with a level of maturity and commitment not usually found in students her age. Amanda can achieve her dreams and change the world. The entire Rancho Ram family is proud of this Star Graduate, and we cannot wait to see what she does next!
