Community partners sought to help improve student attendance in support of Focus: 2024

A major roadblock to academic success is chronic absenteeism. In Clark County, the chronic absenteeism rate can range from almost 13 percent to as high as 34 percent, depending on grade level.

Students must attend school daily to be successful. Attendance affects learning, language acquisition, grades, test scores, and graduation.

CCSD’s newly adopted five-year strategic plan – Focus: 2024 – outlines a number of strategies to increase student attendance. The School-Community Partnership Program works with community partners to support these strategies.

Businesses can donate incentives – such as gift cards or certificates for food items, movies, or activities – to celebrate students who improve their school attendance.

Of the 74 major urban school districts in the Council of the Great City Schools, the Clark County School District has the lowest expenditure per student, one of many reasons why CCSD is grateful for its partners who provide additional supports and resources to students.

If you are interested in donating incentives to recognize students who make improvements in their school attendance, please contact the School-Community Partnership Program office at 702-799-6560.
