LAS VEGAS – Agenda Item 6.02 and 6.03 Notice of Intent – Clark County School District Policy 5139 (Anti-Racism, Equity, and Inclusion) and Clark County School District Policy 5137 (Safe and Respectful Learning Environment: Bullying and Cyberbullying)

The Clark County School District (CCSD) Board of School Trustees voted to approve the Notice of Intent to Adopt Policy 5139 (Anti-Racism, Equity, and Inclusion) and voted to amend Policy 5137 (Safe and Respectful Learning Environment: Bullying and Cyberbullying) prior to submission to the Board of School Trustees for approval on Thursday, November 18, 2021.

Agenda Item 6.08 and 6.09 Public Hearing On and Possible Approval of the New Memorandum of Agreement between the Clark County School District and the Clark County Education Association, Clark County Association of School Administrators and Professional-technical Employees regarding the Negotiated Agreement for 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 School Years.

The CCSD Board of School Trustees voted to approve the memorandum of agreement between CCSD and the Clark County Education Association (CCEA) and the Clark County Association of School Administrators and Professional-technical Employees (CCASAPE). 

The agreements are the result of months of negotiations between CCSD and CCEA and CCASAPE. 

The contracts with these two bargaining units address employee pay, benefits, and professional development opportunities in support of student academic success. The agreement between CCSD and CCEA includes specific transparency and reporting provisions to restore the Teachers Health Trust (THT) to financial viability, pay past obligations, and ensure program continuity and coverage should management and oversight issues continue.

Agenda Item 6.07 Public Hearing On and Possible Approval of the New Memorandum of Agreement between the Clark County School District and the Education Support Employees Association Regarding the Transportation Needs of Students.

The CCSD Board of School Trustees voted to approve the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between CCSD and the Education Support Employees Association (ESEA). The MOA will address driver shortages, and student transportation needs, the agreement was reached with ESEA to aid in the hiring and retention of transportation workers. These incentives will be funded to address delays in student arrival and departure times.
