Agenda Item 3.01- Focus: 2024 Strategic Plan Update – Algebra I and Geometry Participation in Middle School 

The Clark County School District (CCSD) Board of School Trustees received a presentation about efforts to increase Middle School participation in Algebra I and Geometry. 

Focus: 2024, CCSD’s five-year strategic plan, outlines plans to transition students to advanced mathematics courses at all grade levels as part of efforts to increase equity and access. 

The presentation highlights include Geometry enrollment nearly double 2018-2019 numbers with 1,119 middle school students currently enrolled. Algebra I enrollment is up slightly from the 2018-2019 school year to 6,282.

As efforts continue to support the increased participation, CCSD is working to increase professional development to strengthen Tier I instruction, implement consistent scheduling and maintain summer programming opportunities.
