School bus safety is a top priority for the Clark County School District (CCSD). CCSD currently has the largest District-owned school bus fleet in the country with more than 1,930 buses. The Transportation Department follows strict procedures every day to ensure the approximately 123,000 eligible bus riders arrive safely. Clark County School District (CCSD) Family Engagement Department invites families to CCSD’s to an empowering day of workshops, “Parents Empowering Parents.” Parent leaders will host a series of workshops to support family success on Thursday, March 28, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at East Las Vegas Community Center, 250 N. Eastern Ave. Families will have the opportunity to connect with other families, set goals, participate in a meditation session, win prizes and more. Breakfast will be provided. West CTA principal wins Regional Principal of the Year  The Clark County School District (CCSD) is proud to announce West Career and Technical Academy (CTA) Principal Amy Dockter-Rozar has been selected as Regional Principal of the Year by Magnet Schools of America (MSA). The Clark County School District (CCSD) Librarians Day is celebrated on March 6, recognizing the importance of teacher-librarians in an effective educational program for students.  Teacher-librarians are information literacy and technology teachers, reading advocates, leaders and collaborators, and library program managers. They guide students to be critical users and producers of information and ideas. In an effort to highlight the power of a healthy school breakfast, the Clark County School District (CCSD) joins students and schools nationwide in celebrating National School Breakfast Week, March 4-8. This year’s theme, “Surf’s Up with School Breakfast,” empowers students to catch the wave of nourishment to set them up for success and learning. CCSD Food Service provides over 80,000 breakfasts a day to students at more than 350 schools. School breakfast is available to all CCSD students at no cost. Schools and students across the Clark County School District (CCSD) celebrate Nevada Reading Week, March 4-8. This year’s theme is “Embrace the Magic of Reading.” Schools engage students in fun reading activities, spirit days, and guest readers to promote learning through literacy.  Nevada Reading Week is a statewide initiative that was started in 1987 by the Nevada Department of Education (NDE) for teachers and librarians to celebrate reading through shared thematic activities. From teachers to a predominantly female-led Board of School Trustees to CCSD’s Interim Superintendent, Dr. Brenda Larsen-Mitchell, women in the District have inspired their communities and made historic changes. In honor of Youth Art Month, the Clark County School District (CCSD) celebrates students’ creativity through art with the guidance of CCSD educators and its programs.  CCSD students have had the opportunity to have their talents showcased at Harry Reid International Airport for travelers from all over the world to see!
