The Clark County (CCSD) School District Board of School Trustees received a presentation about the District’s grading reform. Through the work of the principal-led Grading Reform Committee, the District has identified four priority areas to focus efforts to ensure accurate, meaningful grades supportive of student learning. A total of 11 Clark County School District (CCSD) schools were honored with the College Success Award by GreatSchools.org. The annual recognition honors schools that excel at preparing students to enroll and succeed in college, as determined by available data in each state. “With our continued focus on student academic success, we strive to give students every opportunity to graduate college and career ready,” said CCSD Superintendent Dr. Jesus F. National Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated from Sept. 15 – Oct. 15 each year. This is a time to highlight the Hispanic heritage and culture and to recognize the contributions made by Hispanics in our country. Hispanic Americans have influenced and enriched our nation through history, culture and accomplishments.  The Family Engagement Department along with other community partners will be hosting a Super Saturday: Social Emotional Learning event. This event is for families and students in PK-6th grade. There will be interactive workshops, a community resource fair, prizes, and free lunch for all who attend. The Clark County School District (CCSD) and community leaders celebrated the opening of the new Family Support Center on Sept. 28, 2022. The Family Support Center offers students and families free ongoing support including workshops, classes, consultations and other resources to help students succeed in school. The center focuses its support and resources on the needs of newcomer and refugee students and their families, but all families are welcome to visit.
