Students and parents have access to SafeVoice, an anonymous reporting system used to report threats to the safety or well-being of students.  SafeVoice can be reported through various platforms: by telephone at 833-216-SAFE (7233); online at safevoicenv.org; or through the downloadable app for Apple or Android phones for free. LAS VEGAS – Agenda Item 3.01 – Focus: 2024 Strategic Plan Update – Chronic Absenteeism The Clark County School District (CCSD) Board of School Trustees received a presentation with an update on the District’s plan to address chronic absenteeism. The presentation displayed the gradual progress of the District’s efforts to lower the overall rate. During the 2022-2023 school year the chronic absenteeism rate was 36 percent, showing a slight improvement from 2021-2022. LAS VEGAS – Since the start of negotiations, the Clark County School District (CCSD) has committed to using all available funding via Senate Bill 231 for its intended purposes–to pay our educators and staff above and beyond the agreements negotiated this year. CCSD, the Education Support Employees Association (ESEA, and Teamsters Local 14) agreed to negotiate the SB 231 funds once the NDE, LCB, and IFC provide information related to the bill. The CCSD Family Engagement Unit will be hosting a Family Academy workshop on Saturday, September 9 from 8 am to 11:30 am at Rancho High School.  This free event will give families the opportunity to gain strategies to support learning at home and will also receive guidance for navigating the school system. Participants have the option to attend either an adults-only session or sessions for families that are learning together.
