LAS VEGAS – Agenda Item 1.03 – Oath of Office Clark County School District (CCSD) Board of School Trustees Member Isaac Barron was sworn in at a ceremony at this evening’s board meeting. LAS VEGAS –  The Clark County School District (CCSD) is pleased to announce its participation in the National School Lunch Program  (NSLP), School Breakfast Program (SBP), Child & Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), After School Snack Program (ASCP) and the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP).  CCSD is participating in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) of the federal Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act. The 2024-2025 school year begins on Monday, August 12, 2024 for all Clark County School District (CCSD) students. Families can find Back to School resources at ccsd.net/district/backtoschool. Online registration for 2024-2025 school year is open.  Families new to CCSD may begin their registration process online at register.ccsd.net.  Families with students enrolled at a CCSD school can now complete registration using Campus Parent via Infinite Campus (campus portal.ccsd.net).  Parents/Guardians with an Infinite Campus account will see an announcement through Campus Parent with a link connecting them to the 2024-25 registration page. The first day of school for all Clark County School District (CCSD) students is almost here and some younger students got a special welcome from their school staff. A group of Lucile S. Bruner Elementary School administrators and teachers made stops at the homes of incoming kindergarten students. They gave the students gifts including school polo shirts, plush teddy bears and hugs. The Clark County School District (CCSD) offers an amazing selection of mariachi programs at several schools across the valley including Duane D. Keller Middle School, which was recently recognized by Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo. Mariachi Alas Doradas de Keller Middle School received certificates from Governor Lombardo for placing first in the middle school category in University of California, Berkeley’s “Encuentro de Mariachi” nationals competition.  The middle schoolers performed in front of family and friends during a special celebration before receiving the certificates from CCSD Board of School Trustees Members Linda P. The Clark County School District (CCSD) is excited to welcome 1,434 new classroom educators for the 2024-25 school year. New educators attended the District’s annual New Teacher Kickoff event at the M Resort on Thursday, August 1.  The educators enjoyed breakfast and received warm greetings from Interim Superintendent Brenda Larsen-Mitchell and other District leaders.  The event provides educators with  an introduction to CCSD’s New Teacher Pathway, which provides two years of induction, mentoring, and professional growth opportunities for beginning and experienced educators new to the District. System enhances security measures LAS VEGAS – The Clark County School District (CCSD) continues to enhance security for the 2024–2025 school year with an enhanced Weapons Detection System for large-scale athletic events at high schools and random school arrival screenings at middle schools and high schools. Metal detectors have been utilized at large-scale athletic events for many years. The enhanced Weapons Detection System replaces metal detectors previously used at large-scale athletic events.
