The Clark County School District (CCSD) offers an amazing selection of mariachi programs at several schools across the valley including Duane D. Keller Middle School, which was recently recognized by Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo.

Mariachi Alas Doradas de Keller Middle School received certificates from Governor Lombardo for placing first in the middle school category in University of California, Berkeley’s “Encuentro de Mariachi” nationals competition.

The middle schoolers performed in front of family and friends during a special celebration before receiving the certificates from CCSD Board of School Trustees Members Linda P. Cavazos and Brenda Zamora.

The certificates commend each student for sharing culture and music with the community.

The mariachi program features approximately 20 students who share a passion to sing and play instruments.
