Two CCSD students earn prestigious Gates Scholarship

Clark County School District (CCSD) seniors Jolie Li and Toni Gaddy were awarded with 2024 Gates Scholarships.

The students are two out of only 750 in the country to receive the prestigious scholarship.

Li is a senior at Ed W. Clark High School and Gaddy is a senior at Del Sol Academy of the Performing Arts.

Both were selected for their outstanding academic record, leadership ability demonstrated through participation in activities including community service and personal success.

Li and Gaddy are also both valedictorians at their respective high schools.

Li plans to attend Stanford University on a full-ride scholarship in the fall while Gaddy will attend University of Southern California.

The Gates Scholarship, created by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, is a highly selective scholarship for minority students. Each year, the scholarship is awarded to exceptional student leaders, with the intent of helping them realize their maximum potential.
