The Clark County School District (CCSD) proudly celebrated the Nevada Middle School Career Exploration Week, an enlightening event held from November 27 to December 1, 2023. This initiative aimed to provide middle school students with exposure to a diverse range of high school educational opportunities, equipping them with the foresight to envision their future pathways.
We had the privilege of attending a series of compelling sessions throughout the week. At Green Valley High School, we were captivated by the dynamic Teaching & Training program, presented by the charismatic Mitzi Tolzen. We were also impressed by the forward-thinking Advanced Manufacturing showcase at Centennial High School, led by the innovative Samuel Smith.
The exploration did not stop here – we also ventured into the remarkable world of Healthcare and Sports Medicine with Ginger Ehrke at Desert Oasis High School. Additionally, we savored the exquisite art of Culinary with Jenny Bravo-Gonzalez at Mohave High School, and navigated the practical realm of Construction Technology, led by Josef Schler at Bonanza High School.
Each program was meticulously crafted with a palpable passion that was truly inspirational. The students breathed life into these sessions with their insightful experiences, making each encounter an awe-inspiring journey. This Career Exploration Week was more than just an entertaining event. It served as a beacon of knowledge, igniting a spark in our young scholars and nurturing their curiosity to explore the multitude of career avenues that lay before them.
