Trustee Lola Brooks appointed to Teachers and Leaders Council for the State of Nevada

Clark County School District (CCSD) Board of School Trustees Clerk Lola Brooks, who represents District E, has been appointed to the Teachers and Leaders Council for the State of Nevada by Governor Steve Sisolak.

“I appreciate Governor Sisolak for appointing me to the Teachers and Leaders Council, and I look forward to serving on the council in developing its recommendations to the State Board on fair evaluations for all licensed staff in school districts across the state,” said Trustee Lola Brooks.

The role of the Teachers and Leaders Council is to make recommendations to the Nevada Board of Education relating to a statewide performance evaluation system that ensures that licensed district staff are evaluated fairly across multiple benchmark data points.

The Council also develops and recommends a plan for developing and implementing the performance evaluation system, a process for peer evaluations of teachers, and the role of professional standards for educators.

The appointment began on February 1, 2022, and runs through January 31, 2025.

Trustee Brooks was first elected to the Board of School Trustees in 2016 to represent District E, which includes Summerlin and parts of northwest Las Vegas.
