Clark County School District (CCSD) Superintendent Jhone Ebert paid a surprise visit to Quannah McCall Elementary School on Monday, September 15, to celebrate the school’s two-star increase on the Nevada School Performance Framework (NSPF).

McCall Elementary School is one of 19 CCSD schools to earn a two-star increase on the NSPF for the 2024-2025 school year.

Superintendent Ebert and CCSD Board of School Trustees Member Isaac Barron were on hand to celebrate McCall Elementary School’s staff for helping boost the school’s star rating from two stars to four stars. School staff were also treated to Cafe Rio as a thank you.

Overall, 136 CCSD schools made improvements on their overall star ratings.

NSPF is Nevada’s public-school rating system that classifies schools in a performance rating system from one to five stars, with five being the highest. It is often referred to as the Nevada Report Card.

This means that students at CCSD schools are making broad year-over-year improvements in a variety of measures, including proficiency in English language arts and mathematics, academic growth in English language arts and mathematics, graduation rates, advanced coursework opportunities, credit sufficiency, and attendance.

“Seeing steady growth across the District is encouraging news and a testament to the hard work of our educators and students,” CCSD Board of School Trustees President Irene Bustamante Adams said. “The Board remains focused on providing our students and staff with the tools and resources they need to continue making progress academically.”

Additionally, 48 CCSD schools earned 5 stars on the 2025 NSPF, an increase from 28 schools in 2024. Fifty-four schools ranked at 4 stars, and 73 schools attained 3 stars.

Three schools improved by three stars from 2024 to 2025:

  • Marshall C. Darnell Elementary School – Improved to a 4-star rating
  • Daniel Goldfarb Elementary School – Improved to a 4-star rating
  • Frank Kim Elementary School – Improved to a 4-star rating

“These results demonstrate that the investments our state and community have made in public education have paid off,” CCSD Superintendent Jhone Ebert said. “Our talented educators are ensuring our students are making the academic progress they need to succeed in life. We are proud of the progress our students have made as we work to become the Destination District for students and families.”

16 schools improved by two stars from 2024 to 2025:

  • Jan Jones Blackhurst Elementary School
  • Victoria Fertitta Middle School
  • John C. Fremont Professional Development Middle School
  • Elton M. and Madelaine E. Garrett Middle School

  • Sandy Searles Miller Academy for International Studies
  • Mission High School
  • Lucille S. Rogers Elementary School
  • Tyrone Thompson Elementary School
  • Del E. Webb Middle School

Beginning in 2022 and 2023, CCSD rolled out high-quality Tier I instructional materials in mathematics and English language arts, respectively. Additionally, the District has increased teacher retention and hiring, leading to the lowest number of classroom teacher vacancies in at least five years. Teachers now start at more than $57,000 a year.

The CCSD Data Dashboard is being updated with the latest star ratings, and the work is expected to be completed on September 16, 2025. The Dashboard will be updated with additional data, including Index Scores, once they are made available by the Nevada Department of Education.
