It wasn’t just that the Super Bowl was held in Las Vegas for the first time, it was that the entire week leading up to the football championship was an exciting and special moment for our community, including for CCSD.

Why it matters: NFL stars and partners visited our schools during a multitude of events, making donations and taking time to visit with staff and students.

? Sunrise Mountain High School students had the unique opportunity to meet members of the Raiders, including All Pro edge rusher Maxx Crosby, and gaming representatives on and off the field for the EA Sports’ “Field the Future” event.

What they’re saying: “The most important thing to me is showing up every single day and trying to show these kids I wasn’t a five-star dude, I didn’t just fall into a position where I was on a professional team. It literally started with the work every single day,” Crosby said.

?‍♂ More than 160 students at John R. Beatty Elementary School had the opportunity to participate in NFL PLAY 60 Kids Day at Mandalay Bay.

  • They learned the importance of healthy living and playing for at least 60 minutes a day with an interactive Super Bowl Experience with football-themed games and an NFL PLAY 60 kids zone.

? CCSD Engagement Unit showed how students from John C. Fremont Middle School, Global Community High School, and Valley High School partnered with renowned 3D pop artist Charles Fazzino to create an original collaborative work for the Super Bowl for display at Harry Reid International Airport.
