Student performers find new audiences

Plays, musicals and other performing arts activities have been canceled amid the COVID-19 pandemic, but CCSD students have found new audiences for their talents through social media.

Ballet Folklórico students from Sunrise Mountain High SchoolClark County School District individually recorded themselves, and Mrs. Villalobos spent countless hours combining and syncing the video. Click here to see the outstanding result of their hard work and artistry.

There have been plenty of cover versions over the decades of Elvis Presley’s “Viva Las Vegas” – including renditions by Bruce Springsteen, ZZ Top, The Killers and many others.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that the coronavirus pandemic didn’t prevent the Las Vegas Academy of the Arts VIrtual Wind Symphony from performing recently.
