Fertitta Week of Respect event 10-6-17

09 Oct Step Team performance highlights Week of Respect assembly at Fertitta Middle School

Fertitta Middle School celebrated Week of Respect in a big way on Oct. 6, with students gathering in the gym for a loud and jubilant assembly. Week of Respect aims to celebrate diversity and reminds students, parents, educators and community members that everyone plays a role in creating and maintaining a safe and respectful learning environment, free from bullying and cyberbullying. The color blue is used to symbolize unity and success for the community. The Fertitta event featured the debut performance by the school’s Step Team, which performed a routine that involved stomping and clapping to a beat. Among those on hand for the festive event were CCSD Trustee Carolyn Edwards and Equity and Diversity Education Department Assistant Director Brandon Moeller.
