Star Graduates 2021 – Valley

Bogdan Degeratu is enrolled in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme at Valley High School and is this year’s Valedictorian Candidate. Bogdan has been involved in many different facets of high school, academics, and community service; facts that can be seen through his transcripts and resume. However, this does not begin to tell the full story of how valuable Bogdan has been within Valley’s IB program over the past 4 years. Bogdan has been described as a “generational IB student asset for Valley”.

Any academic institution that has the privilege of accepting Bogdan as an incoming freshman next year is setting up a stronger academic ceiling in the short term while nurturing a future alumnus that will bring a long-lasting legacy as he has done at Valley. From writing his own book, to creating and advocating for more elective classes (IB Council) where the student voice can be heard, to developing an IB retreat for all juniors and seniors, Bogdan is committed to growing within the IB program. Beyond all of the obvious accolades, however, what defines his greatness is that Bogdan understands that he can be his best while also lifting up others. He truly is “a comet crossing the night sky”. Bogdan will attend either Harvard College or Williams College in the fall.
