Lena decided to transfer to Nevada Learning Academy for her senior year so that she could continue her school work while maintaining her job. Although it was a major transition from traditional to online school, she managed to excel in her studies. Throughout high school, she constantly pushed herself by taking honors courses and seven AP classes but that hard work has paid off and she is now graduating at the top of her class with a 4.655 GPA. She is very passionate about science and the workings of the medical field. She hopes to one day become a physician’s assistant or a nurse anesthetist so that she can assist her own community and make a contribution to the healthcare field. She hopes to attend UNLV Honors College or Howard University in the fall to major in Biology and minor in Biochemistry.
