Nysheem Heckendorn came to Clark High School for the first half of his freshman year. During this time, Nysheem struggled to make it to class, respect adults on campus and get along with his peers. He even struggled to pass a majority of his classes. Nysheem’s family decided to move at the beginning of second semester of his freshman year.
After attending multiple high schools, behavior school and Burk Academy, Nysheem decided that he wanted to graduate from a normal high school. At that time, he was zoned for Clark again. Because of Nysheem’s past, we were hesitant about his intentions, but wanted to give him the chance we thought he deserved.
This turned out to be a great decision for us at Clark. Nysheem has turned out to be an exceptional young man. He was eligible for football in the fall. His attitude was completely different. He was a leader both on and off the field–he was a whole new young man!
We are so proud of the man that Nysheem has grown up to be, and we are so excited that he will be walking across the stage wearing black and gold.
