Dre Boyd-Weatherly is a bright and enthusiastic, lifelong learner. Dre has been a student of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program for her entire academic career and is a candidate for class valedictorian. Dre is a recently recognized Ron Brown Captain and College Board Recognition Program Scholar.

An active member of Valley High School, Dre participated in Valley Theatre, lettered in bowling, and served on IB Council. She is in her second term as president of the IB Council and a student representative at the state level for IB World Schools Student Board.

Dre is a leader and community volunteer. Outside of school, Dre has a passion for the arts through ballet and storytelling. She leads dance classes over the summer. During the pandemic, Dre began Books and Ballet, a virtual class introducing ballet, literacy, and culture. She received over $2000 in grant monies for Books and Ballet and this past year, was appointed by the mayor for the City of Las Vegas Grant Review Board for its 21-22 term.

Dre’s commitment to education, school activities, and community has prepared her for college. She will major in international relations and ultimately attend law school and focus on global justice issues.
