Western High School is proud to announce I’yanna Jones as its 2025 Star Graduate. I’yanna truly embodies the values and perseverance of a Western Warrior. In her sophomore year, I’yanna faced the heartbreaking loss of her mother. Despite this profound challenge, she has demonstrated incredible resilience, unwavering determination, and a strong work ethic in everything she pursues. Her academic achievements place her at the top of her class, making her a valedictorian candidate. I’yanna’s commitment goes far beyond her studies. She is deeply involved in a variety of extracurricular activities, dedicating herself fully to each one with a passion for excellence. Her unshakable drive and tireless commitment also extend to her community, where she has made a meaningful impact.
A natural leader, I’yanna plays a crucial role in the cross country team, wrestling team, and Air Force Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (AFJROTC). As a key member of the cross-country team, she contributed significantly to their third-place finish at state. On the wrestling team, she was crowned regional champion, placed second at state, and earned the title of National Strength and Conditioning Association Academic All-American. As the commander of the AFJROTC team and president of the National Honor Society, I’yanna continues to inspire and lead by example. I’yanna has also committed over 400 hours to community service, further demonstrating her dedication to making a difference. With her recent acceptance to Harvard University, we are excited to see all the incredible things this remarkable young woman will continue to accomplish.
